Is their a site that anybody knows or a link to somewhere that tells what d series 92-95 hydro transmission you have. Idk if i got a vx tranny or a dx tranny or what??.

 

Slap it in the car... if it feels like the worst gearing ever... its CX/VX style

I know I've found threads in the past with codes in them, when searching use the archives. Check for threads from Mistabone also, he is a tranny master.

 

Thanks man i'll check, but it zips threw most of the gears pretty easy from like 1000-4000 rpm pretty easy, so im thinking "or hoping" it's not a vx/cx tranny.

 

check on the casing there should be a number like V4F on it

 

There's a stamp just above the fill plug. This is for 92-95.

P20/A000 is for DX/CX/VX
P20/B000 is for EX/Si

It says on the sticker on the front, S20, it's a hydro btw. I still will have to check above the fill hole for the number, thanks.

Are you sure?, im not totally confident yet but i did look around on google a little and apparently their are a couple people that said they had a s20 tranny for sale that is a cx, or vx, unless they are all just called S20, lol.

 

I will tell you this, it DOES not feel like a cx or vx transmission, it goes from 1000rpm-4 or 5 or so pretty easily, i have NOT got on it yet. I did happen to look and found out earlier that the engine code is d15b8, and i was like...well damn i thought it was a d15b7..lol, eh wells.

i had a cx tranny when i got my car put it with the single cam vtec id go 130 in third that tranny sucks ***... my friend bought a cx hatch with a dx tranny also... you cannot tell buy numbers on the tranny besides the
P20/A000 is for DX/CX/VX
P20/B000 is for EX/Si
thats the only way to tell.. other than that u have to figure it out by the site and how fast ur giong in gears top speed

 

OK HOLD ON, their is nothing above the fill hole?..is it a stamp embedded into the tranny casing or is it a sticker or some **** like that?. I just went outside again, with my lazy tired *** from work and took the flash light and looked all up under the **** and i din't see a god damn thing, lol...wtf?

 

it is very very hard to see the stamp from the top of the car.. let alone with the tranny in the car.. drive teh car up on ramps or jack it up and put it on jackstands or whatever... get some gunk spray that area off and look.. there should be like 2 or 3 stamped circles and one of them has what u need... just put it in 3rd gear go to redline and see how fast your going then go to the tranny site here http://home.cinci.rr.com/mistab0ne/tranny.html

Hmm thats wierd, i went out and looked and apparently my dumbass was lookin at the wrong thing, hahaa. But anyways it had a circle above another on ABOVE the "FILL BOLT" that said p20, then below it in another circle of course was B000, looks like i gotta talk to someone, thanks for the help guys laters.

 

O yeah i was lookin at the drain plug not the fill bolt.
