I've searched 3 days. HX D16Y5 into 98 civic CX High Idle all times.
oK, I swap out the blown motor for a 97 d16y5 Hx engine, used the cx harness and added Vtec wires, did IACV 3 wire to 2 wire fix. using 97 Ex ecu.
I am not throwing any codes and still has a high idle. So far I have..
cleaned the IACV about 4 times,
bleed the coolant for air,
check for vaccum leaks,
checked voltage on tps,
check for bad intake manifold gasket and tb gasket by spraying break cleaner,
solder all wires
what else can I do or check for.
thanks.
thanks in advance

tried that it did the same plus it ran really rich and gave me CEL 41 because of the 5 wire o2 not being hooked up.
its all the way in. also checked injector o-rings, also if I put my finger on half of the hole in the throttle body it idles down but as soon as I let go it shoot up again.
the car its CX so I don't have a tach.

Perhaps because the y5 has Vtec-E instead of regular vtec. An EX ecu would just cause vtec-e to engage at the wrong spot. Maybe that has something to do with your high idle issues? But it's just a thought..

no one minus me. I kept mine for this exact reason and the fact that I am too cheap to buy a B series or Y8 head

too cheap for a y8 head?? and youd rather keep you y5 head, to each their own and i dont know you goals with the car if any, could be just a dd but when i got my Ex and my buddy with a y5 with header full exhaust, v2 intake and jet chip couldnt beat me when my car was stock, he just gave up and invested in a y8 head

i wish i had a dollar for every person that thinks the y5 is garbage. But then again i don't. cause that means that i can get spare cylinder heads for 50 dollars shipped.

im not saying its garbage thats where most of them end up, yea its putting donw 164 and running a 13.7 on a custom kit, y8 at like 8 psi will run a mid to low 13 depending on driver and put down better numbers yet. i give that guy props for sticking out his y5, but some people would rather see better numbers bolt on to bolt on i guess like i said to each their own
