It's the 7.5amp (radio backup) fuse in the under hood fuse box. Leave it out for 10 seconds, and put it back in. You may have to redu the radio presets afterwards.

Stock radio code.

But won't it come back on through the test?

Fix the problem, don't band-aid problems, it'll bite you in the *** later.

do not woory about the alarm even if you do have one , it is non-factory,, removing that fuse should not affect it ... also if you don't have an anti-theft radio do not worry about it ... what BLK says is correct to reset computer ,about the fuse etc etc,,,

Just pull the 7.5amp fuse in under hood fuse box (for 10 seconds) it will clear the code. Of course it (the light) will come back, sooner or later. What you need to do is go to Autozone and get them to check the codes for you (I think they do it for free). Then come back and post codes.

Take the whip to Autozone they will let you scan your comp for free if any codes are on (check engine light on) and ask them what the codes mean.

you need to read the code and post it here ...someone will help you diagnose it ......there is a blue 2 wire plug under the right side dash ( kick panel),, plug might be taped with blue tape,, jump those 2 wires together. put key on position ,lite will blink on instrument cluster........a series of short and or long blinks,, a long blink is equal to 10 a short one to 1 ,, so 2 long 1 short would be 21 and so on...read and pot it ..

Go to the passenger side of your car and lift up the carpet and there should be a window with a light flashing, longs are 10's and shorts are singles so long long long short would be code 31. Find the code and post it here.

Also, there should be a jumper cable that you can jump and the cel on your dash should flash the same amount. Obviously you'll have to have the car trip the cel to get the cel.

edit: deserthonda beat me to it

your car will not hook up to a parts store scan tool , you'll need to jumper the blue 2 pin connector and turn on the key to get the flash code Link Below

Go to auto zone and they will run a diagnosis on it for free to tell you what the code is that it threw and mayb some free advice on how to fix the problem. Which hopefully it isnt major. Anyways good luck

On my 90 it had an opening for the ecu and I thought 90-91 were the same in regards to ecu...never really looked into it that much but I knew my 90 had it.

Autozone can't do the diagnostic because your car is not OBD2. 96 and newer only. For you, there is a little blue connector under the dash on the right side. It will either be under the dash, or under the right side kick panel. You stick a paper clip and connect it to both sides of the wire, then turn the car to the on position. Your check engine light will blink, and that code determines what the check engine light is about.

It is probably that plug with the orange and green wires going to it. Take a paper clip (or wire) whatever and connect the two wires together. When you turn the key on, the check engine light will blink the code. Let it blink the code a few times, to make sure you get them right. Long blinks are for the ten position. Short blinks are for the one position. Example: Three long blinks, then two short blinks. This would be code 32 get it. (It may blink more than one code) When you have fixed the problem, you can take the 7.5amp fuse out of the fuse box (under hood). Keep it out for 10 seconds, then put it back in. The computer will be reset, and if you have the stock radio, you will have to reprogram the presets for your favorite stations. BLUE PLUG WITH TWO WIRES, ORANGE AND GREEN.

Is this picture taken near the kick panel? Towards the front of the passenger side door?
