I have a 98 Civic LX Automatic 120K miles w/ aftermarket short ram intake. This has happened 3x in the last 2 weeks: the engine stalls out as i come to a complete stop. It's only happened in the morning when it's cold, but i warm the car up for at least 5-8 min (long enough to see the temp gauge move up into the normal position and idle @700rpm). Once I star driving it seems fine until about 1/2 a mile later and I come to an intersection/stop sign, as i'm rolling to a stop, the rpms drop alot, around 300-400rpm and the engine is struggling, then it dies. I put it in nuetral or park and it starts up again, but when i put it in reverse or drive it idles erratically and stalls or it just stalls. No check light whatsoever.

I have searched all the posts regarding d16y7 and i dont think any of these symptoms are discussed in those threads. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

no stored codes? maybe ur distributors about to take a ****.. ur fuel filter may be clogged , maybe even a really bad vaccum leak

 

tranny is shot happend to my van i think i payed like 2000 for a new tranny and instalation pretty good deal

 

Could be about 20 different things. I dont feel like listing all of them but your going to have to do some diagnosis. Pickup some shop manuals and start reading and learn how to test.

Sounds like you prob wont be able to figure it out yourself tho. Prob gonna have to take it to a mechanic.

 

resolder the main relay and let us know if that fixes it
