about 2 weeks ago i got a CEL and pulled code 80: poor EGR flow. i hooked a vacuum up to the valve and it opened so the valve still works. i sprayed some carb cleaner into the valve and put it all back together and reset the ECU. a couple days later the CEL comes back on, figured i didn't fix it. i removed all the intake manifold EGR plugs and cleaned with some wire and more carb cleaner, cleaned the valve again, and reset the ECU. it lasted a week,and it just came back on today. there are 2 things i can think of: check all the vacuum lines and make sure nothing is blocking them, and the valve control solenoid might be bad. i am going to spary some ait into the lines to clean them out, but how do i check the valve control solenoid? my service manual i have just says how to remove and replace it, nothing about inspecting it. can anyone help me out? or do you think i just haven't cleaned the EGR ports all the way? thanks in advance!
