steering column / wheel clicking?
hey guys
yesterday i installed an intake, so instead of listening to music now, i tend to see what i can hear with the engine. however, upon turning down the music, i also discovered a weird noise with my steering wheel?
when i turn it, it makes a clanking noise, its kind of hard to explain what it sounds like, but its there. also, when i park the car and turn it off, and then start turning the wheel left/right it makes the same noise...
anybody know what it is? or is it something i just didnt notice before?
thanks

It may just be the gizmo that cancells the turn signals when the wheel is turned. With the car off, click the turn signal stalk to ON for either left or right. Turn the steering wheel slowly and see if the clank might co-incide with the cancellation of the the turn signal. If it does, that's all it is.
Mine is like a rubbing noise, like rubber to rubber kind of sound. An old mechanic of mine who was putting my new axles on mentioned something about my Rac'n'pinion (NO IDEA HOW TO SPELL THAT) steering my have a problem, but I didn't mention anything to him about the sound I was hearing. I am not too educated about steering stuff.
