Twin turbo? Whaaaa?

Ok, don't spend much time around RSX's so I was curious when I heard about this. An aquaintence of mine (actually just some jackass I work with) was bragging about how he was going to get an RSX (haha... 16 year old kid was trying to buy an 06 RSX-S). Anyway he was arguing with the kid who just bought a 98 Cobra that he when he got his RSX and twin turboed it he would kick his ***.
Obviously upon hearing this I fell to the floor in a bundle of laughter. But never the less, I am curious as to if it's possible to twin turbo an I4? If I'm correct you have to put on a turbo manifold, which the turbo spools off of and then the cycle works from there. How the hell would you get two on there?!
I have never believed a word that he has said mostly because he's full of bullshit. But I just want to make sure I'm right before I have to prove him wrong AGAIN.
Oh, and yes, this is the kid who showed me the fiberglass blitz kit with the horrible mount job and 6" wheelgap and said "you can't tell me that doesn't look sick."
Edit: Forgot to mention, only reason I've bothered asking is because he claimed to "have seen it done."

I dont really have any idea if this is possible or not but isnt there like sequential twin turbos with like one after the other? Or am I completly wrong here? I dont really have a clue so I am in for the answer.

i remember reading a thread on here from homemadeturbo.com had a B16 in a crx and it was TT but they used some small subaru turbo's and it was very unrealiable. but they did it just to prove it can be done

I had a friend who prototyped a TT kit for the SRT-4. It had a small turbo and a large turbo with a vacuum actuated flapper valve that ran the small turbo to about 2800 then redirected the flow to the larger one. It was overly complex and he took it off the car, but he said it was quite effective in eliminating any chance of boost lag.
Twin sequentials are never out of the question, but why you'd bother when you can properly size one turbo and get a similar effect, I don't know.
In this case, it sounds like a bit too much Fast and the Furious.

Only real way I could see it done as a true "twin turbo" would be to split up two cylinders and run them into two seperate turbos. Or sequencial, but I know he doesn't have the brains to think that one up. Totally uneffective and totally pointless, that's what I thought.
ummmmm..my friends 93 sequential turbo rx7 is making 600 to the rear wheels on pump gas....so very not unnefective...considering he is at max boost (26 psi) right at 1700 rpm.. but were not talking rotary..were talking about the k20a2 in which case twin turbo's are pointless.
i remember a couple of years ago there was a civic with a b18c and had a twin turbo setup. but that was a full race drag car. but it definitely was twin turbo. i think super street or import tuner did an article but too sure.
It is possible to do. I saw it on a teg gsr (b18). Like its been said, it can be done but it is not worth it. You would be better off getting a larger turbo.

Mustangs suck because they sale too many v-6 models. So you have girls like my sister who buy V6 mustangs who think they have sports cars. Then other idiots pass her on an on-ramp and think there is no difference between a v6, gt, cobra, saleen, or roush. Its the same as how a lot of mustang fans would look at a type-R and call it a grocery gettin honda.
hrm, I dont think having a v-6 model makes ALL mustangs suck. I do agree with part of what you said as I have seen and talked to many people w/ (stock) V-6 who think their cars are just as good as the GT, cobra, etc. With that being said I kinda like the GT and Cobra stangs. I never used to be a fan of them but after driving one (98 GT) they are alot of fun and I actually kinda like them now.

When 1 kid in highschool kills a v6 mustang in his integra and heads to school and brags about how his light weight car killed the 8 ton mustang. A lot of guys will just assume for the next 10 years that mustangs are 8 ton slow power plants. Whats the ultimate ricer argument? ".....my car weighs like 500 lbs less so that will make up for you having 150 more hp"

Twin turbo's on a 4-banger teehee, unless it's sequential but still not worth the trouble... look at the thread on the 600+ hp 500+ ft-lb torque turbo rsx...
Ok I think mustangs suck, but it's just because i live in the middle of hickville alabama where everyone thinks they are god's gift to the world and needs to have one to be accepted. 90% of the "tuners" here are either ricers with fart cannons or rusty mustangs with loud exhaust. I'll keep my car clean and work on it when the money comes in (which will happen this spring!!!).
