Sold Integra. Now what?
Sold the Auto 95 LS w/ AEM CAI and Greddy Cat for 7500. Kept my Slipstreams and Kumho's ($600 obo) What do you think I should do now? The main reason in selling the car was to rid of the AT and find another cheap LS and have enough money left to start with the turbo setup. I'm still wondering if this is the best idea. Should I get a GSR? ..or maybe a VW GTi (vr6)? (considering I'm still on somewhat of a budget)
Is the VW easy to work on? You might wanna consider this if you're on a budget. Talk to someone with the car. I would get another Teg. But I'm biased like that. I do like the VR6 though. Both are nice.
yeah, i was kinda 'iffy' about the gti. they aren't as reliable as the hondas.. ..but i think they're nice cars w/ potential if you put money into the right parts. right now, it's lookin like another integra or a 92-95 hatch.
personal opinions: boosted ls, b18c hatch, or gsr? (sorry if that looks like a poll, i just really would like honest pros/cons)

By momentarily setting other options out of the way, and you're going with a Honda, a B18B boosted hatch would be a nice setup.
Good platform, nimble handling, boost is nice, and those hatches have excellent utility.
But by no means overlook the GTi's. Different, but cool.

Vws are easier to work on... trust me. Before I got the GSR I was REALLY looking at a 95 VR6 Jetta... I'm kinda wishing I got it for the rear seat space but then I think about how much fun my GSR is and... I would take the GSR over the VR6 anyday

92-95 civic hatch and swap in a GSR or ITR motor.
or if you want to remain classy and new style, get a 96+ civic hatch.
good work getting rid of the AT.. yuck

for $7500... hmm... if you had a lil more to spend I would say get a 240sx and then get a SR20DET thrown in... but thats not enough for all that at once. Still I say pick up a Nissan 240sx, then save up for the swap.
Of course a B18C Civic or something of the like...
Turbo II RX-7's are great, too and more than affordable on your budget...
300ZX with high miles, but thats no good...
If you want something fast for your money, the Turbo II RX-7 is the best bet and you'll have a lil cash leftover for an engine rebuild (if needed) or performance parts. Insanely fast and semi - reliable. B18C Civic, fast and reliable, but you have more potential with the RX-7 or 240sx... Turbo RWD, hard to top with a FWD...

I still want a mid-90's vehicle; for both safety and 'classiness' I guess. But how's this sound?
-3000 for a 92-95 hatch
-3000 for a b18c1
-1000 for labor (i have some connections)
-500 for my pocket or i/h/e ?
Either that or:
-5500 for a 94-95 LS
-2000 for a cheaply done turbo kit.
+ whatever else I could dump some money into.
save up for pistons/rebuild.
I could take a little loan out and get a nicer GSR.
..no fun though.

Yeah, i just my '95 LS Cpe last x-mas for $2000. But the LS motor was blown but I was able to find my b16 head and b18c block hybrid for 600 bucks! Just takes time and persistance.
Not so much die-hard Honda. Just not familiar so much with the nissans. I have two friends with older/newer Maximas - but they're not so much into tuning.
Tell us what your goals are. What kind of racing are you going to do? Exactly how fast do you want it to be? Are you willing to sacrifice some reliability for power?
BTW, the 240SX is super-easy to work on. The engine bay is so big, it's got so much room inside to work on that it reminds me of my friend's '68 Mustang. The potential of the 240SX is huge because of its excellent suspension setup, somewhat light weight, and RWD.
