Default OBD-1 DOHC ZC

I tried searching but nothing came back but I know there’s some info out there about these engines. I know getting a OBD-0 engine would be a lot less hassle but I’m just curious as to what it would take to put this engine in a 1991 CRX HF.

There is this engine importer not too far from where I live and on their website they list the engines they currently have in stock and the ones that are coming in on the next shipment. They say they are getting a OBD-1 DOHC ZC engine from a 1992 EG5. I was wondering if this engine would fit my HF, could I use the stock mounts, would I have to do any wiring, can I leave it at OBD0, can I use a PM6 ECU from an Si, can I use the tranny from an Si also and is there anything else I am forgetting?

I believe the engine should come as a complete swap including the tranny (it’s AT so that’s useless) ECU (useless also) axles, wiring harness etc. I know a few of the parts included will be useless as it will come as a AT and wont it a manual but can I use any of the parts?

How much work am I looking at for someone that is fairly new to car repair and modification and would it really be worth it?

How much is it..?? Because it sounds to me like you're only going to be using the longblock ..And getting that whole swap might be a waste of $$$$..You can get the 88-91 dohc zc longblock from online retailers at an average price of $500..

I think the whole swap would be about $750 and I would be able to pick it up since it's close.

Would there be any market for an auto ZC tranny and ECU?

I'm just throwing out some ideas because I know I can get the OBD0 DOHC ZC engine at hmotorsonline for about $525 plus about $250 shipping.

you can use the eng, but you need to use a obd1 ecu with it, and change the driver side mount bracket to a dohc zc obd0 version... They are different on the eg zc. And use the crx tranny, not the hydro zc tranny

What would be the best ECU to use with the engine and what would be the best mounts to use? Are there any compatible mounts for the engine i.e what other car could I get them off of?

Use the crx/civic mounts. The best ecu depends on what obd you are going to run.

Oh ok I can just use the regular mounts, sorry misread that. If I was to keep it OBD0 what would be the best and easiest to find ECU to use?
