gsr trans with 4.7 final drive
Do you have an LSD?
If not, get one first. I wouldnt bother with the 4.7, a 4.9
If you are concerned about highway RPM's, get an LS 5th gear.

with 2nd, 4th and 5th being the longest out of any of the USDM HYDRO Bseries VTEC transmissions....if you are looking for the best acceleration.... I would consider getting the 4.9.
If you don't have an LSD, then consider getting a JDM 98spec ITR trans and doing a 4th and 5th gear swap from a 96spec R/B16A tranny....while keeping the 4.785 final.
All of these recommendations do NOT take into account highway cruising....it is intended for acceleration only.

whats the ls 5th gonna do? im okay with my 5th gear cruisin right now.

no i don't have lsd. also, i kinda want to keep it somewhat "streetable". meaning i dont want my rpm to be at - 7k while cruising at 60mph(exaggeration)
. not really sure what the numbers would be, but you get my point. i guess the 4.7 would be better for me then, than the 4.9 that u recommend? and would i really notice a difference, performance wise? also, do u know the price for a jdm itr trans by any chance. thanks again.

I personally use a 96spec gearset and a JDM 4.785 final....and the difference was significant.....
I find this to be the best gains without sacraficing too much in terms of comfort, fuel consumption and general noise....not to mention COST....
There are...and WILL be trade-offs for the noticeable performance benefits.....
Not sure what the going rate is....check the classifieds...
