streaking sound from slave cylinder
Hello all: I have a 1996 Honda Accord LX sedan. Yesterday, when I am doing a checkup on the clutch reservoir, I notice that the fluid level is very low and dirty. And upon more inspection, I notice that the slave cylinder is making a loud streaking noise once it is decompressed down. It does sound that the either the piston is not backing out correctly or there is some problem with spring unit. Can anybody share any comments on this problem and how difficult it is to change the unit? How often do you bleed the clutch fluid?
thank you in advance for all the comments.

Grab up your handy flashlight and look up under the dash where the clutch push rod comes thru the fire wall , that is where all the fluid usually goes, As far as the noise you hear, press the pedal while you have your head under there and I'll bet it's the pivot point making the noise and not the clutch master itself; If you find no fluid leak under the dash go down to the slave cylinder on the front side of the trans and pull the rubber boot back and check for leakage there.
One eyed mechanic says" fluid is low"
Two eyed mechanic says "why is fluid low"

thank you very much for your help. I went to the bottom of the clutch and check everything. Luckily, no leak. But it is still making some noise when I stepped on it. I sprayed all the spring and moving parts with WD40 but the noise still persisted. I am not sure what I need to lubricate the piston.
