Default Stereo Code Help...???

I have a 2000 Honda Accord LX. I recently had to unplug my battery, and now my stereo needs the code.
Anyone know how I can obtain that code instead of taking into the dealership, where I'll have to pay an arm & a leg for them to do a 2 second job?

Thanks for the help!!!

look on the inside of your glovebox if you see a sticker with a series of numbers between 1-6. If so that's your radio code. If there is a sticker with numbers and letters or just numbers greater than 6 that's your serial #. Post the serial number here and I can get the code.

To get the serial number try pressing 1&6 buttons at the same time as you turn the radio on; then when you have the serial number Honda can look up the code

Your radio code is 53513. Just type it in using your preset buttons.

do you have a program that convert the serial # to the code or something? I'm sure there's an algorithm or something to do that.

Yes there is a top secret code decoder ring that comes in every box of cracker jacks; but you have to have an engineering degree from MIT to get it all sorted out and working right ...I really crack me up I'm pretty funny sometimes; if I do say so myself

I have to take enough time from rolling on the floor laughing to bring up a related topic.
There are Honda radios which do not require security codes. IE:
'96 to '00 Civics with remote tape / cd drives
Although equipped with the telltale red LED, there is no mention of "security" anywhere on the face.
The seriel numbers will usually start with @F00000000B

I had to go as far as American Honda to get this information (Three dealers later). Evidently, it is not common knowledge; even among local dealers
