Default auto tranny: safe to mess with n-d4-d3?

i tried searching on this but i havent found enough information

i notice my that on my auto transmission
from P, R, N, D4, D3, 2, 1

that I do not have to push in the button on the shifter to move up and down from
N, D4, D3

how safe is it for me to shift from one to another when im driving

I do it all the time, you can shift all you want to within the D ranges. The car won't go into a gear that would damage it due to high RPM's or what have you.

It's pretty easy to accidentally hit the shifter into neutral while driving. It's a good idea to let up on the gas, before putting it back in D.

very well, most of the honda auto tranny do not require a release when shifting pass"r"

how bad is it? i think the question is, why you want to shift the auto tranny all the time.

Put it in drive and call it a day, that's why it's an automatic tranny .

As far as neutral to slow down, the gas savings would be small. I shift mine like that sometimes because i get sick of Automatics. And you can make it hold the shifts longer.

the manual says that you can shift through the transmission like a 5 speed...

i do it when i'm bored... and to see some rpms higher than 3k :D
