Default noise/vibration levels of EF's with B series?

i've heard quite a few locals talking about B-series motors into EF's and they say the noise levels / vibration levels are horrible, i'd liek to know what you guys think, i think its best to keep it into this format:

CAR:
MOTOR:
MOUNTS:
SOUND LEVEL: (1-10, 1 being quiet, 10 being headache every 5 mins)
VIBRATION LEVEL1-10, 1 = quiet, 10=unbearable, shaken to ****)
COMMENTS:

thanks, this is going to help me quite a bit

the only time i notice the stiff mounts is at idle and its not really that bad, you might get some squeaks from some interior pieces rubbin but thats it,
CAR:89 crx

it definately depends all on the mounts you use... but i've never seen anything terrible enough to make girls complain or the like

however, upon acceleration... oh yeah thats just power

CAR:89 CRX
MOTOR:B16a
MOUNTS: Newer Hasport mounts
SOUND LEVEL: 2
VIBRATION LEVEL: 7
COMMENTS: It's only bad at 750rpm-1000rpm..The fenders shake,The mirrors shake, and when you talk it sounds like you're talking into a fan..These solid mounts really help out the axles so it's all good..

Car: 90 si hatch
Motor: B16a
Mounts: No-name polyurethane
Sound level: 3
Vibration level: 4 - at about 1200rpm you get a back massage. No more vibration than stock throughout the rest of the driving range.
Comments: I have no cat or resonator on a 2.5" pipe with a 2.5" in/out muffler and a 2.5 angle cut pipe for a tip. I had a stockish exhaust before and it didn't get loud until 5000rpm. Right now it is too raspy and ricey sounding. I'm definately going for a high flow cat when I can afford it.

Another thing - If you get a b16a or better, you will definately not care about a bit of noise or vibration.

It truely does depend on the mounts you have. HCP mounts have different durometers of stiffness. Depending on what stiffness you go with will determine the vibration level. Even the lowest durometer will still have more vibration than stock. Any mounts using polyurethane are gonna retain a higher than normal vibration level.

CAR: 1988 CRX DX
MOTOR: JDM ITR
MOUNTS: Hasport Billet
SOUND LEVEL: 5
VIBRATION LEVEL: 2 at cruise, 6 at idle
COMMENTS: It's not really bad. Yes, it does vibrate more than stock at idle. But if you can get past this, it is nothing to worry about. Vibration at cruise is quite posssibly less than a stock A6.

CAR: 1988 Civic DX 4DR
MOTOR: B20Z
MOUNTS: Older Welded Hasport
SOUND LEVEL: 3
VIBRATION LEVEL: 2 at cruise, 4 at idle
COMMENTS: This car is probably quieter due to the fact that it is a sedan and has a quieter exhaust (Greddy SP vs Greddy MX). I'm not sure why it vibrates less at idle. Perhaps the older Hasport mounts are less stiff?

i,ve been a passenger and driven both

if you want civility stay away from a mount kit with poly in it.

If you want power go built d series turbo. It will also have torque

If you want mad power and dont really care about the noise lvl and vibration then get a b series turbo you will have turbo and mad vtack!!!!!! .. and also torque!

It depends on where you live. I have a Hasport mount kit and the urethane gets so stiff in cold weather that I've broken two mounts from vibration. When it's close to 0 degrees, the car starts shaking the dash and vibrating the exhaust and it feels like the wheels are going to fall off until the car warms up a bit. Also, keep your carpet.

I have buddy with HCP mounts in there with all 4 mounts bolted on and I don't see difference in the vibration from ITR swap to my lovely DX stock motor.

b16
az race mounts

I got used to it. But then again, its gutted which makes it alot worse. Once i put in the interior and some b-quiet it should quiet down alot.

WHIP: 90 EX sedan
MILL: JDM B16A (all stock)
MOUNTS: 1st Gen. Place Racing (steel & polyeurethane)
SOUND: 5
VIBRATION: 7.75
COMMENTS: I regret removing my clock to replace it with the fields controller. It rattles like a muthafucka..other than that i get the standard inevitable rattle that plagues the EF chassis.

CAR: 91 DX Hatch

MOTOR: B20B -w- crower cams and other bolt-ons

MOUNTS: Hasport... not sure what kind specifically... they seem hard

SOUND LEVEL: between 4 and 7 depending on RPM and ooutside temperature

VIBRATION LEVEL: frigid temps, engine cold at idle: 9, warm temps cruising around: 3

COMMENTS: Poly bushings (suspension, motor mounts, etc) are HARD for a reason. They make your have a very "positive", "responsive", "immidiate" feel. You know exactly when that clutch starts to grab, or when you loose and regain traction. The trade-off is some vibration and noise. Even with the vibration and noise, I still love the way my car feels.

yea i think some of it might have to do with weather also. I live where it snows and gets to single digits in the winter, and i must say, so far its been getting a little worse. the car is in the garage now

CAR: 88 dx hatch
MOTOR: b16a
MOUNTS: avid
SOUND LEVEL: 1 at idle, 3 when cruising around, 8 at wot above 5500 (it's a good sound)
VIBRATION LEVEL: 4 when cold, 2 once warmed up, 2 when driving
COMMENTS: idle is set to 1000 to reduce vibration at idle during cold starts, after it's warmed up vibrations are minimal.
