I always wondered this

 

prolly made by pioneer, like many factory honda speakers. cheap paper shiz.

 

i really dont think they are cheap b/c i got a 98 and my speakers bump and they are stock!

and thats with the bass on 0

 

thay are amazing whatever they are! i love the stock stereo in the 5th gens. i even went and bought stock components because my lude came with aftermarket crap. acoustic feedback system kicks ***!

haha I had a badass aftermarket system in my accord before I got the Prelude. I had everything. It sounds almost as good as my Preludes stock system without the bass. Im still pretty happy with the stock speakers and alot of people are suprised that its stock, so I just gave my system to my dad I didn't need it.

 

Stock 5G speakers is ROCK

 

They're not too bad, but they apparently can't handle the 60 watts x 4 from my Alpine 9835 head unit since my front right speaker blew up shortly after I put it in

Really?

I got rid of it when I replaced my deck with a new Pioneer one to get mp3 support... I noticed a huge improvement in sound quality (Pioneer deck, stock speakers, no acoustic feedback).

uhhh what year is that deck? You got to admit the the Preludes system is pretty good when it came out. back when 97 there was no mp3 player.

I'd have to agree about the stock deck being so-so.. I know they changed the layout on the 99?+ models, and while my 97' deck was okay for factory, my alpine deck blows it away in sound quality. But yes, I'll agree that it's a decent sound system for being factory.
