its the fmu, its dumping assloads of fuel into your motor making it run stupidly rich

fmu + wideband o2 = pointless
the wideband will tell you what you already know when you are running an fmu

ditch the FMU and go with real EMS

i just got tuned w/ crome and it feels great and it's very fast and smooth.

Besides it doesn't cost that much worth it in the long run man

1st problem is deinately the fmu, you have a honda, hondas have a ton of free engine management availabe why go with an fmu, anyone that runs an fmu on a honduh automaticlly should be labled a tard, turbo cars tend to run richer as well I hope your running colder plugs than stock and not the stock platinums go to walmart and get some cheap autolite cooper plugs thats all you need.

Did anybody read the part where he said he hasnt boosted?!!!!!!!!
So how did the fmu that raises fuel pressure under BOOST make his car run rich at idle? And as far as FMU's go i got over 30 mpg running an fmu about 3 years ago

ok...i still want to know what may be my prob with the black plugs...but wanted to use same thread...for this....
chipped ecu over greddy emanage...which one is better...i found the emange for 250 and i have found a skunk 2 chipped ecu...which one would better my car and easier to work with...i heard the ecu is much better cuz you plug it in and your done and everything works on its own...im only planning on boosting about 5 lbs so i was just going to get the ecu and be done......

an ECU would definatley be better. But with a skunk2 program. Id take the Emanage over the skunk2 unless you get a different program

here is what i was looking at for the ecu...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

and another program from the same guy....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...60581

could i use either one of these and be done with the fuel management headaches..and

i put the number of my plugs above...are those one step colder??...

and also could the black plugs be caused by having the timing off?? still no answer to that??

you will blow your motor wiyh one of those ecus all they do is chip it and add a **** load or fuel and timing also a 9600 rev limit. when boosted you want 2 take away timing not add it
find a good tuner in your area buy a virgen p28 get him to chip it and tune it then you should be good

If you go emanage I would suggest the emanage ultimate. It has alot more features and is closer to a standalone than the blue. But the blue works pretty well too.

i think 6's are stock for b-series. and 5's are stock for d-series (someone correct me if i'm wrong). most b-series people are running heat range 7 spark plugs. i'm running 8's or 9's on my setup. project dc2 (phil from spoolin fab) sells some for a good deal, you should hit him up for some if you can't get any local.

AND you do need to get your timing retarded, advance timing is a no-no. so those chipped ecu's you showed are no-no's. those programs are for n/a setups which ultimately, blow boosted motors. so if you can't get anyone local to tune your car, at least look in the sponsership forum for someone who can chip ecus and make you a basemap based off your setup. there's a few guys, 93turbo16 did one for me. but there's also kenji, mtber, etc.

good luck
