Default Maintenance and some upgrades with a wierd problem.

So Saturday a friend and I did some much needed service to our cars.

Cars: 2000 ITR & 1999 SI

Maintenance:
Timing Belts
Water pumps
Rotors
Pads
Brake Fluid
Oil, trans, coolant
Valve adjustment

Upgrades for ITR
Spoon Clappers
Mugen Suspension
JDM 4.7 with clutch pack LSD
Toda Header
Friction Modified Synchromesh
ATE SuperBlue (thanks BlueR)
SS brake lines
Prob some other crap just cant think

Upgrades for the SI
Hasport Solid Motor Mounts
Brake fluid

Now, the tech. After doing the brakes on the ITR, front calipers and SS lines all around. We bled the complete brake system, we never touched the Clutch master, however when we were done with everything I had no clutch pedal. At that point we were kind of in a rush and myself, my friend P, and Mr Sakai were stumped. Alot of WTF's and cigarettes and we decided to just bleed the clutch and everything was fine.

So my question is why did we loose pressure in the clutch, when we never touched it from the beginning?

Other than that it was a very productive day and was quite pleased with the turnout.

You pulled the trans? The ball/socket format of the clutch slave cylinder probably popped loose and leaked into the rubber boot.

Someone accidentally touched it and is not fessing up. Nothing on a car just happens like that especially when it's off.

Checked that and it wasnt the case.

We never touched the clutch fluid until after we noticed I didnt have a pedal.

Thats what we thought but both of us would have confessed because we like to talk **** to each other. The last thing we checked was bleeding the clutch.

That doesn't answer the question. How low was it when you guys put more fluid in it?

Is it possible that you were actually pushing on the brake pedal, not the clutch pedal? And there was no brake pedal because the fluid hadn't gotten to the point where the pistons were fully pushed out (like it always is when you replace fluid and/or pads and need to pump the pedal a couple of times)? Just a thought...

WTH?

Definitely wasnt stepping on the brake pedal. It was def the clutch, the problem had us all stumped, we were about to take the trans off again but then Steve said "this might not be it, but lets try bleeding the clutch first" So we did and it was fixed.

It was a long day, but we got it all finished. Started around 8am and found the limp clutch pedal around 7pm, we were done at about 815pm.

It really wasnt all that bad, we had another car that needed some work but to many people walking through the shop stopped and talk to us.

So I finally got to take the R out for a decent drive. The brakes are awesome, so much more smooth. The suspension is kinda stiff but I might adjust it for the drive home. The trans feels great!!! After driving an Accord for the past few months and then 80mph and taching almost 5 grand in the r, its quite a change. Having power in 5th gear again is nice. The header, well but dyno says its alot better than the dc crap I had on it before.
