Gauge cluster removal
Alright, I've searched, and all I could really find were posts from 03'. Just a quick check...the plastic surrounding the gauge cluster is only held in by the two upper screws with covers? The gauge itself is held in with 4 screws that can be taken out once the plastic surround is taken off, correct? Thanks ahead of time.
The cluster hood is held on by 2 screws on the top towards the back, and 2 on the bottom underneath the hazard switch and the rear defroster switch. You also have to unplug all those switches before you take the cluster off obviously.
Yes there are 4 scews holding in the cluster. take them out, disconnect the speedo cable and the 3 connectors and it comes right out. GL with whatever it is you need to take out your cluster for.
I recently took my cluster apart to make the gauges amber. I will be attempting the dangerous task of making the crx climate control lighting amber. Hope I didn't botch up the uber hard to replace climate control.
Mmmmmmm.....amber.....

CRXB16T, your cluster looks awesome! I just got mine removed, and proceeded to change the bulbs out. Quick question though, did you remove or replace the upper 2 bulbs (the really really small ones that overlook the console)? I've never seen bulbs this small...they're smaller than the 74's used in the turn signals, engine check light, etc. Do you happen to know what size they are? 24's perhaps?
On a final note, only the bulbs that have the blue film over them to whiten the light need to be replaced with amber, correct?
Thanks!

That is how most people do it. I just took off my guage faces and painted the back of them with stained glass amber paint. I left the bulbs as is. The result is just what i wanted.
