Default crxs.......

Ok I dont know if im typing this because... I really dont even know why.... but WHY do we spend some much time and money into these cars, just to have a hobby?? Well this hobby can easily add up and take hella money out of ur paycheck, where you can be spending it on more usefull things. Personally I bought a crx and put B16a2, basic mods... wutever, And its costed me like 2G's just to replace wut was necessary, and Its not even close to what else needs to be done to make it run properly. Its like why the hell did I just drop almost 8 grand on an 88, and a ****** cavaliar drives better than my car ( I really need suspension). My car makes noises when I drive and do you really think im gonna get that 8 grand back?? NO, especially with the million and 1 things that the person who wants to buy my car can name why I should sell it cheaper. this car was a money pit thats all.... Now I love hondas, but theres a line........ I know im gonna get flamed but I dont care, and this is definitly gonna get locked... But this is me just speaking my mind as of this moment, and im sure in 5 hours ill love my car again, but I look at my car and get so damn angry almost every day and im tired of it

True, but I dont have the money the make a weekend crx like yourself. I spent all the money I had on the **** I got and It can hardly drive in this snow weather.... Its like alright sell my Eclipse, Finally get the honda ive wanted ever since I got into cars(crx) And I used ALL of my money in this car. its just ridiculous, I didnt anticipate all this extra BS, I figured my entire body would be done by now, hopefully had gotten a champ white paintjob in spring, maybe SiR front end, and Suspension def. done now. I have a job offer in Utah (I live in IL, 18 yr old) And I sure as hell cant drive down there with my car.

Nobodey told you to spend $8,000 on useless **** like an OBD-2 B16 with bolt-ons, when you should have been spending it on more important things . . .

If your hobby is Cars and you're a cheap ***, i recommend you to find another hobby. Other than that, treat it right and it'll treat you right back

keep in mind honda's can be fast and gas conserving

I didnt start messing with my CRX until i was 28 and had a career

The only thing i spent my money on was stuff that made my car faster and handle better absolutely no apperance stuff added it looks stock. sleeper so maybe you can stop wasting money on apperance and just whatever to make it run right

We dont know why we do many things. I thought the same thing many times myself. personally i think its the love. if u love what your doing then money is not an option. it comes slower to many of us but we all want the car that stands out has some *****, and can keep up with other "sports cars". Honda is the answer. they are cheap parts are everywhere and there are a million different setups, also your not spendin as much at the pump. we want to show the muscle heads that its not the size that matters its how you use it. and sometimes its not easy, every time i have a problem with my car i threaten to sell it followed with the usually cursing and throwing of things in the garage ,especially in the winter when u have to crawl under you car in all the wet slushy shitty salty snow freezin you nut sack off. But i always come back and put my money into it cause it what i love to do come hell or high water. i think thats why we do it and spend/waste our money thats just my opinion

Well considering my car has 1 things for appearance.... black rota slips..... I dont know wut ur talking about, And my car is primer.... which doesnt exactly make my car the prettiest... and Stocker I agree, Like i said before, I will love my car again in 5 hours, im just pissed, I look at my car and think its so F'n Sexy when in reality im sure everyone thinks " oh look at that piece of garbage", but I am not going to sell my car, and I will get what I wanted done, its just going to take a hell of alot longer than I thought

hey cars is my hobby...i recently bought a crx for a daily driver...i own a supra that i have modded. but after buying the crx i couldn't stand the temptation of buying parts as well. i just spent like $600 on some wheels, suspension. and now i'm thinking of doing a engine swap....why do we do it...don't know just cuz we love cars i guess. but the crx is a lot easier to find parts and cheaper then the supra. i spend about $5000 on the supra.....and it still not finished. ehh o well

Its a hobby not an investment.

I have had hell with my hatch as well swaps wiring you name it its sucked.
I gave up bought a nice *** Daily that does great and still have my hatch. I never go sleepless nights wondering if that box from Jegs will make it to get my car running after random thing broke or dickweasel joe will drop off injectors.

I understand not everyone can swing 2 cars but I've had so many snags with my project I wont ever work on *more then like I/H/E rims etc* a daily.

I can't wait till hatchy is done and my LS1 starts going under the knife more just be warned of her now

We love our cars and sink money time and love into them

If your doing it as an investment, then your doing it wrong by dropping $8k.

If your doing it as a hobby and love doing it, the $$ factor isn't as big of a deal. I've built 3 and sold them all, turning a profit on all of them. My current CRX is a keeper...hell, I've got $1800 in parts just sitting in my storage while the car is getting painted, which is another $xxx. But when you'r driving it, taking hard corners, and outrunning the Stangs in your CRX, you just don't think about the $$ part of it.

You can look at any person's hobby and wonder why they spend so much money on it when YOU can think of more better ways to spend that money.

I also have an interest in fixed gear bicycles which is basically a track or road bike with only one gear and when the wheel is moving the pedals are moving. Many people on the bike forums I belong to spend thousands on bikes and parts. Can they spend their money on better things? Maybe in your eyes, but to them, these are better things! Look at the golf guys wiuth clubs costing several hundred dollars a piece! Or the hunters. Or the bowlers. Or the knitters or scrapbookers...

Lots of people are willing to spend the cash for their hobbies of interest. If I had the expendable cash to throw at my bike and CRX, I'd do it in an instant. My wife would think I'm wasting my money, especially if I spend it on my bicycle!

Hell, I have a HUGE comic book and Basketball card collection that I probably spent every dime I made on from the ages of 11-16 on. Don't regret a bit of it, haven't looked at any of it in over 4 years. I now look at that as an investment though...I'll give it to my kids one day (after I have some)

if you dont like dropping loads of money in (or dont have the $ to drop it in like me) then you can still make a fun car to drive for cheap. i traded a P.O.S. dirtbike for my hatch and so far ive dropped about 1500 in it and got some decent parts, 90 si hatch, 110k, for 1500 got a new tranny, exedy clutch kit, 3 sets of rims + tires, new front end, full tune up, d16z6 head/im, axles, and almost a full turbo set up (turbo, manifold, injectors, piping, fmic, and some mangement parts) parts are cheap and plentiful in the world of honda, and the interchangability (is that a word?) is great

I feel ya, but you know what? You only live once. That is what I tell myself. I have 4 cars but I also have a career at 27. I tell myself why the hell am I going to build this car for racing when I am not going to do it professional. Well it for fun. What the hell else am I going to do.

Like take this, I work at one of the BIGGEST RV dealers in the U.S. These people come in here and spend hundreds of thousand's on a motor home and talk about depreciation!!! We have 1,000,000.00 coach here and we have people coming in to pay cash. Now tell me what is a wast of money. It's all about the love of doing something. Have fun and don't sweet the little things.

I thought the same things one day, and this is what i wrote down as to why i keep dumping money into my CRX:

GET A CAR THAT YOU LIKE. One that your heart truely desires. One that you have a PASSION for. ONE THAT YOU COULD BE SATISFIED DRVING FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, even if it was never modified, and left alone, bone-stock forever. Once you find that car you will want to stick with that car forever, and never want another kind. And then, you will want....no...DESIRE to build THAT CAR the fastest THAT IT CAN BE, because you wont want to sell it, to buy a faster car.
