the civic si has:

mpfi
moonroof
color matched side mirrors
d16a6
civic has drum in the rear for every year. only crx si had disc and only the late models.
quicker gear ratio and higher final drive than dx or std
dual outlet muffler instead of single outlet
center console clock ** not sure on this one.. but most dx and std i have seen dont have them.
recaro seats from the factory
tachometer
different steel wheel pattern from dx or std. the "vent" holes look different
plastic foot rest on the left sideof the clutch pedel

i think that covers it. atleast i cant think of any more.

and the correct name for the color of your car is Tahitian Green Pearl... i know cause i have a tahitian green pearl si hatch. heh..i was skeptical of mine for a while being a true si, but it is.

It really doesn't matter. They all have no power options, which is lame, and secondly, all USDM 88-91 Civic's have throw-away motors.

no power stuff = light

throw away motor = a motor that gets 30-35mpg and wont blow up? sorry it's no b-series - i'll keep that in my track car

What makes a Civic Si an Si? The VIN that begins "2HGED7 . . . "

I happen to like it that way. Makes for a lighter, more simple car that keeps me more focused on driving.

Maybe to some stunna drag racer. The D16A6 happens to be very valuable to me - and everyone else who races in ITA, H4, STS, STX, etc. - so when you're throwing your perfectly good engines away, let me know.

By the way, I averaged 19mpg on track at the last event I did at VIR, all while passing countless VTEC cars; 40mpg on the highway home - and with 251,000 miles on the clock. Try that with an engine that isn't a "throw-away."
