Default Trans fluid question

What should be used in the gsr 5 speed as far as fluid?

2.5 qts?

I looked at autozone and saw nothing and they did not know what to sell me.

Thank you
E.Honda

Try any GM dealer's parts counter. Also, i think its 1.8 qts for a b tranny.

neither one of you guys must have completely drained the trans, or you were not on a level surface. you should buy 3 quarts, and if properly drained and level, it will take 2.4 quarts or so.

oh, and my take is to run regular honda mtf. nothing wrong with it at all.

I don't even own a B, but my H took 2.1 qts to fill after my swap. Never knew a B tranny held more fluid.

No i wasnt on a level surface, i jacked the drivers side up to drain it, then i jacked the passenger side up to fill it, so i could get more in... i bought 2 n didnt get the 2nd one all the way in... so maybe more like 1.7.. The manuel said 2.3 i think, but i couldnt get that much in even w/ one side jacked up
Autozone carries it

Personally, People have told me not to do it, But I use 1 quart of Penzoil Synchomesh, and the Remaining 2.2 Quarts of Mobil 0-40. I've never had ANY problems and shifts very smoothly.

yup. i usually pour all 3 qts in the vss hole and then pop out the fill plug to let the excess out. because i am too cheap to go get a plews suction gun. but 2.4-2.8 qts should be the correct number.

and i always use honda MTF.
