Default B16 into Del Sol swap questions - not covered in the archive!

The first question I think I have an answer for. The B16 we got has 2 1-wire O2 sensors on the back of the exhaust manifold. I have never encountered this before! I just took one of them out and replaced it with a 4-wire O2 sensor. It is only going to read the exhaust for 2 cylinders but that should be sufficient.

The next question - does anybody make a bracket that I can use to retain the original throttle cable? If not I know I can use a 93 GSR cable but I'm trying to save the guy some dough. I suppose if necessary, we could make our own.

This is more of a statement than a question, but on the B16, I'm guessing the temp sensor is on the back of the motor and uses a 2-wire connector. The D motor uses a brown or grey conn near the distributor. I will have to cut off this connector from the D-series harness, extend the wires, and run it to the correct spot. I never saw anything written about this anywhere. . .

The final question of the day involves the exhaust. It seems to be about an inch and a half off but I'm willing to bet we can stretch it a bit. Also, the flange holes don't seem to line off - they're about 90 degrees off I think (honestly didn't get a good look at it today). I'm going to just try to rotate the cat and get it to fit. Anyone see any problem with that, or am I going to need to have the flange-adapter-interface fab'd?

Oh I also saw the purge will have to be added on. Is that really necessary for PA emissions? Does anyone know that?

I tried to sum this all into one so I wouldn't get burned for not searching. I didn't do a search but I did read almost all the links in the ***Post Links to Helpful FAQs So We Can Get an Archive Going*** for fun, even the ones not relevant to my cars!

Thanks all for sharing some information!
B

you might not need purge for pa emissions. thats a big might though. anyways it saves gas over time. why not have it

i have a del sol b series throttle cable from a del sol... it's never been used, just out of the package. i did an auto to manual swap bought it and didn't need it. i also have a couple of transmission and shift linkage parts i do not need. if you want these let me know. i rather put this to use than tossing it.
