Thoughts on suspension for a 94 EX... Everyone give your 2 cents please
Im lookin for a suspension kit for my 1994 Accord EX (VTEC), and not sure what to buy. I was thinkin hopefully some of you guys might have had any of this already and could give reccomendations and also things to stay away from buying... I need help on this, Im wanting the APEXi world sport kit, but Im 16 and dont really want to drop 1200 bucks in suspension. I might end up doing that, but anyways take a gander at the suspension kits on these pages and see if anything looks good. I pretty much have it down to the Apexi world sport kit and the Tokico kit, but lemme know what ya think.

It all depends on what kind of performance you want out of your suspension. If it is your daily driver, I wouldn't suggest going any lower than a two inch drop. Speed bumps can get pretty brutal. Also, if you lower your car more than an inch or so, you will need to make sure you get a better shock such as Tokico Illuminas, Koni Yellows, KYB AGX, etc. Also, you need to figure out how stiff of spring you want. Some springs, such as Neuspeed Race Springs, are very stiff and will be bouncy on bumpy roads....so prepare to have a sore butt/head if you are tall. Also, do you only want to drop it with springs and shocks, or do you want sway bars and strut bars also? Suspension Techniques makes pretty good sway bars and they're affordable. Neuspeed is a little bit more spendy. Also, if you drop your car more than 1.5 inches, make sure you get an alignment done afterwards. Don't worry about getting a Camber kit unless you notice some serious tire wear. Eibach springs are good, Neuspeed Race or Sport springs, Tokico, etc.....be more specific on what your wants are. If you are wanting something that is adjustable, coilovers are ok for that. It all comes down to whether you want it to ride like an Indy car, or smooth ride.
The TasPro #305100 Kit has the right stuff. But you should be aware that the EX comes with sway bars already. The ST bars offered in the kit ARE stiffer (however) and would firm up the body roll rate better.

Alright, sounds good... thanks to both of you for the advice, very much appreciated. Its really gonna have to be my daily driver, to go to school and work and wherever else... But I guess its just a learning process. Ive been shopping online all day today tryin to find parts for the accord. I have 3000 in the bank... But Im savin that cause next year Im doin this thing where I can go to college for half of the school day and tuition is free... get my automotive program started. But like I was saying, I have 3 grand, and I wanna put like 500 of it back, for gas and **** like that. Im plannin on spendin around two thousand on parts... So Ive got a little list goin in case anyone has any advice about this **** too. haha
-DC Sports ceramic 4-2-1 headers
-Apexi World Sport suspension kit OR taspro kit OR tokico kit, havent decided...
-Skunk 2 68mm throttle body (its the only tb I could find for an f22b1)
-Injen cold air intake OR Iceman intake system OR AEM V2... really dont know which to pick on this one. All about the same price, dont know much about any of the intakes...
-Flowtech ARIMASS Thundermuff exhaust OR Tanabe Super Medallion exhaust OR Skunk2 Megapower exhaust OR like an HKS hi power muffler with custom piping...
-SUN Hyper ground system S-type
-Skunk2 Racing ECU.
The only thing is Im trying to narrow all this stuff down to costing me about 2 grand...

As for an intake, if you want the best power out of one, go for the AEM V2. I don't know what the dyno is for your car, but on a 6th Gen accord, it adds about 8hp to the wheels. No other intake will do that for you. As for exhaust and a header. Have you ever heard of Megan Racing? They have really good products that are affordable and will give you just as much hp as most expensive brands. They have a stainless header for your car that'll be way better looking and just as good as the DC ceramic one. Anyways, check out http://www.meganracing.com. If you have any questions, email them and they'll email you back quickly, I've done it. Anyways, hope that helps man. Good luck. I wish I had an extra 2k to throw into my Accord. lol.
ahhhh believe me, its by no means "extra" haha... its almost all Ive got, but I had a job and Im gettin another one this summer or before at the local Honda/Acura place, an internship for that college ****. But yeah I will check out that megan stuff. You know how it is, when you want all this **** for your car and can only afford half of it... so get less expensive stuff with the same quality,
.
EDIT:
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH
-megan n/a type exhaust
-megan coilovers (not sure)
And I like those seats, nice and at a good price... but like I said I have the lighter tannish looking leather interior. So that wouldnt look good at all. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm my first car is my first project car, this whole project car thing is opening the world for me. (Im excited)

Dude if i was you i would drop that much money into a car. i got a 94 accord and for suspension i would recomend the Neuspeed Sport sprint 1.75 in the front and 1.5 in the rear drop depending on where u live if you live some where where u get alot of snow i wouldnt go anylower thank 2" and they are pretty cheap and excelent quality and it will give that accord that agressive look. with out looking like a ricer. and also for an intake i got a cold air intake from AEM with an air bypass valve and its pretty good oh by the way if you decide to lower you car again i would make sure that ur inner fender liner does not rub or eles if u get a cold air intake u will get ur filter mad dirty and could suck up some water or w.e
a nice catback exhaust would be decent to but not something that will sound like an angry bumble bee but somthing deep.
best of luck to u kid. and again spend your money wisely! dont go off getting no U-P-S (usless peice of ****) speed chip or no dumb shyt like that because it messes up ur car you really want to add some real horse power get a higher lift cam and internal parts because bolt on parts will only do so little.

Just do some H&R, Neuspeed, Tein sport drop springs....maybe some new shocks, and some bigger sway bars. She'll handle like a dream.....
It'll make a great daily driver, plus perform too.....

cool... yeah thats really what I want, something good for daily driving, but will perform when I wanna do some driving... Sounds good.
I run the basic Tokico HPK suspension kit with a full poly bushing kit from Prothane and thats it on my 94 EX Accord and it performs surprisingly well. The kit lowers the car just enough to give it a sportier appearance along with some good handling. It's a very good kit to have for a daily driver. I have no problems even going through the winter months with my car. It's not too low to have to worry about driving anywhere and whenever I want to enjoy some spirited driving it provides that. If you're on a budget at the moment, I would highly recommend the HPK kit from Tokico.
Whatever you decide to do, DO NOT GET NOT 99cent lowerings springs or coil overs of ebay! u will regret it and also Do NoT GeT Drop Zone! and personally i would reccomend more lowering springs than coil overs! they will always be even unlike coil overs are a pain in the *** to get them all at the right height and plus coilover deliver more bounce in the ride lol almost like a bad set of hydros! lol especially over bounce roads but again my prefrence lowering springs!lol
so how much is that tokico HPK kit? and to accordisslow, like, do you suggest that I just get some really good lowering springs or what? Like, I got offered today by one of my friends to buy is 2 15's (Trio's) for 400 bucks. And I want a system too. So that might hold off on some of the parts that I had wanted earlier. But yeah then I again Im in ****** high school, and you know how that is... You just want everything on your car at one time. But yeah suspension is the first thats goin on so I gotta decide sooner or later.
with 2 grand to spend, why not hold off on the bolt ons and build a turbo kit...I mean, I H E, is goona be a waste of money if you want to turbo it...you could eaisly fab up an exhaust and the piping for your turbo ect...I made the mistake of dropping $ into intake/ exhaust ect...only to see a 5-9 hp gain at the wheels, I wish I would have saved that money for a turbo system....anyway about suspension, I have a 99 accord and I decided to go with tokico illumina shock/spring kit...I absolutely love it, Lowered it well about 1.5 inches all around, rides much firmer, and isn't very bouncy at all..also the car breaks traction smoothly now as opposed to extreme understeer during hard accel. and turning....btw my dampening is set in the middle front and rear...if you go for an adjustable setup you might want to start there with you settings...

OK, just because you wanted everybody's opinion...
Put the money into savings and use it when a major repair is needed for your car. What's really wrong with your stock suspension?

not bein an ***, but the hell with saving it for a repair. Im in highschool man, you know how it is... I did find a turbo kit that has a garett turbo @ 5 or 6 psi for like 1800 bucks. But suspension is the first priority.
