Light Weight Wheels
I'm in the market for a set of lightweight wheels. I don't want to break the bank but I'm looking for something of good quality. Light weight is a must. I can't seem to find many 5x114.3 bolt pattern. I'm looking for either 16 or 17inch. I had previously planned 16inch only but it seems most manufactures only make 15inch and 17inch wheels and skip the 16's. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Here's the list of stock weights:
93 Prelude VTEC 15X6.5 22.5
95-96 Prelude Si,VTEC 15X6.5 17
97 Prelude VTEC 16X6.5 19
97+ Prelude SH 16X6.5 19.5 - 39w/tires
I don't know what breaking the bank is for you, but if you want light weight rims that are still durable, SSR type-c (competition) Volk's, Racing Hart CP-035. All of these however will cost over 1k for all four rims. I think some of the lightest are spoons, they weigh something like 8.4lb's in 15x6.5, cost something rediculous though.
Rota's are a good choice like 98vtec said, if you're on a budget and want something pretty light.
Edit: If you really want something cheap and light don't get 17's. Get 15's

Inexpensive.
Good quality.
Light weight.
If you can afford them get volks. You could probably use them on a tank.

rotas are really cheap and light. you won't break the bank even with tires. you have to remember that tires will be about another $400-$450, depending on what brand, size, performance... blah blah blah. if you go to the wheel and tires sponsor forum you can find a lot of good deals on rims, and even some with tires.

Im not real sure but i think that the 15inch rota slipstreams weigh 12lbs. I own volk ce28n and when i took them out of the box they were superlight weight and i could pick them up with 2 fingers. there pricey and the rotas cost like 3-400 for the set of rims.

HAHA.
None of these are the lightest wheels on earth, but my roomate used to have a set of 14X5.5" Volk Racing CE-28Ns. 6.8lbs per wheel ....and those are aluminum alloy. Imagine what the forged magnesium wheels weigh!!!!!!!!!
I went to a shop in Gardena, CA that had a set of 18X12" forged magnesium Volk race wheels for the Supra and I could still lift them with my index finger
I say go with the 5Zigens or the Buddy Clubs.

arhhh remember, when you guys compare the weight on the rim, make sure they have the same size, don't take 15" rim compare to 16 or even 17 because that's not relavance

Enkei RPF-1's are an extremely light weight wheel...I think there was a used set of 5-4.5 16's on here for while, Macronshin I believe is his screen name.
