97 Accord Shifts/Jerks Hard @ 3-4000 RPMs? HELP PLEASE!
Hey guys, I've been noticing a problem with my Honda lately and I was directed to this board through someone
So the question is....I bought my 1997 Accord off my neighbor not to long ago (got it in about August) and recently the car seems to shift REALLY hard (its an automatic), like when I'm accelerating and hit about 3 or 4000 rpm's, the car makes like a jerking motion and the exhaust is loud (it has a custom exhaust though so maybe that's it)...my friend told me that it just shifts hard and there's nothing wrong, but someone else told me it could be the transmission so I'm here lol
The car has 80,000 miles on it as well
I'm like "what is this?" I didn't know if its from the cold weather or what (I live in rhode island)
Help is greatly appreciated
If you need anymore info I can be reached through AIM @ gsob8 or through email (gsob8@tmail.com)
Thanks a bunch

vss has nothing to do with it.............. chk motor mounts,,if ok, chk throttle cable adjustment at tranny ,,,

Check the color of your transmission fluid first. If it's not bright red you need to have it flushed out with Honda ATF-Z1 (no additives). That is the #1 cause of any shifting problem.
