Default air box mod?

i just bought a magnaflow catback exhaust for my 2000 ex and they're sending a "free" k&n drop in filter. i was wondering if i put the filter in, would it hurt if i drilled a few holes in the air box lid to let some more air in? thanks

You're really not doing anything by drilling holes on the top of your air intake box. haha. just leave it alone. drop the K&N in there though

you can drill the airbox to give it a little more sound, thats prolly all you'll get though.. i did it back when i had my maxima, gave it more of a sucking sound, nothing more though.

You can remove the resonator and this will help some. It will be a touch louder however. Drilling holes in the TOP of the box would be retarded considering it would let in unfiltered air.

It just makes the intake sound deeper when accelerating. Doesn't sound bad in my opinion.

i actually modded my stock airbox. i cut a fat hole at the corner nearnest the passenger side corner light, on the side before the filter. my intake is so deep i love it, i also have a 3 inch sort ram pipe connected to it.

but then now i dunno how imma pass visual.
