so what is the beef vs. strut bars with a pivot?
okay well as far as i can cee, the pivots dont really stop the bar from working, all theese bars do is prevent your car's body from doing this \ / and this / \ during cornering, am i missing something?
This topic is actually up in the air on whether they are as functional as solid bars or not. The fact that they have a pivot point means there is a place for them to loose their structural integrity when put under pressure. Basically, the bar will bend at the pivot point if put under pressure.
i dont cee how it would bend at a bolt when you have a long, sometimes bent section of metal that is able to flex, i think it would be more likely to bend there
MOST (emphasis on most) bars are stronger than the bolts, so the bolt will break loose long before the bar will bend.
even so its a 2$ fix lol higher grade bolts, i just really want to know because i want to get discount EGay bars since im poor but if the pivots are that big of a deal ill pay a lil more
take a straw, bend it on both ends to make a table, hold it level, lift one side...wow look, it moves both sides.
Bars that have pivot points do the same thing. If youre going to buy a thing that doesnt really do much in the first place, at least get one that will attempt to work more than the other.
If you dont want to spend a lot on a bar, get an oem bar from an em1, del sol, or integra

Upgrading the bolt wont do anything. It will still be able to 'twist' so to speak. Besides you can get a 99-00 Si bar for ~$40 Maybe less.

i understand your argument but i really don't think it applies in this case...
DISCLAIMER before i go on i would liek to make it clear to everyone that i am NOT trying ot be a smartass, i am NOT trying to offend anyone, i just want to get to the bottom of this. in NO way am i saying that i am knowlegable, im JUST TRYING TO UNDERSTAND and feel free to disprove me, the more accurate the arguement for or agaisnt me, the more we all learn. with that in mind, lets proceed
okay taking into account that the figure "1" is the body while moving in a straight line
i understand that a pivot in a strutbar woould allow the chassis to flex as depicted in "2" BUT i was always led to belive that its figure 3 and 4 that we we're attempting to eliminate with strut bars, in which case it wouldent make any diffrence, pivot or not.
also if the body flexed as in figure 2, the bars that wount into the two holes in sheet metal (not the ones that mount to the strut tower 10mm bolts) would rip themselves completely out of the sheetmetal. feel free to disprove me, i would appreciate not being flammed thogh.

its not really sheet metal, if youre going to call it that...its pretty heavy gauge.
Youre putting a lot of effort into this, and it isnt required, since they do so little anyways.
No matter which bar you get, youre not going to notice any difference whatsoever

5???? Christ...
If you want better handling, just buy a rear sway bar
Really, go ahead and buy the bar package deal off ebay. Put them all on and then tell me that you honestly notice a difference (if you do, its in your head).
Have someone else who's driven it before drive it too, but dont tell them you did anything. They will not be able to tell the difference at all

Rear sway is the best thing you could do to your suspension.

try to connect the for 4 seat belt bolt points with a X form bar.. fab it or buy it.. i think some companies already make it.. horizontal bars dont do **** for body flex.. as for body roll thats a different story
