You should be fine. The newer motors are specified with lighter weight oils for emissions and startup milage.

oil is oil. youll be fine, as long as its motor oil. Think about all those poor shmucks who take their car to speedee oil change or whatever the hell and they throw whatever kind of oil they feel like in there. at least you put 10x30 which is what alot of people run anyway.

the 5w just has to do with when the vehicle is cold, the 30 is the important part

Most people on H-T know me as an oil *****. i love Amsoil ASL Oil and their Amsoil Ea Oil Filters.

Questions for you! I ran Ams Oil in my MX Bike and love it, is your car a DD or a Track Car? I have run Mobile 1 in my truck and I swear by this stuff, but for my DD I use 10W-30 Castrol, love it as well. Soo do you reccomend AMS Oil for those racing and its pointless in a DD, or doesnt matter? I just want your opinions.

The winter "W" rating can indeed be important as well, especially if you live in an area that is particularly cold.
