Default which layer of the headgasket do you remove?

.....if you wanted to raise the compression ratio. if you had to remove only one layer of a oem honda head gasket which one would be the safest to remove?

thanks.

Why not just buy an aftermarket headgasket that is thinner?

I dunno if you should or not. Just wondering why.....

I personally wouldnt, but that doesnt mean it wont work. Just seems like alot of extra work if it doesnt work that could easily be avoided for the $80 or whatever an aftermarket cost. I'd wait for someone's response that has actually tried it first.
