i would highly recomend a chrome trim ring, not polishing.
the trim rings are like hubcaps, but they only cover the lip. my roomate had them on his old jetta, and it looked SWEET with his flat black steelies. i loved the look.

I was doing mine black w/ a red dupont metalcast lip. It looked decent but I wasn't as careful or dedicated to it, so they didn't look that great. I just repainted them all black, and never put them on the car w/ the red lip.
