NRG quick release...HELP!!!
I finally got my quick release hub and was looking at the directions. it doesnt say anything about how to install the 2 metal slotted rings that have a tab on each ring. i can tell it lines up with the 6 holes but not sure which direction or how to correctly bend the tabs..any help would be great. thanks
the two metal rings im talking about are identical. i'll try to take pictures later of it. if anyone has ever bought or installed an nrg quick release post up...im thinking it might not even be needed for install.
These are grounding plates for your horn, if you want your horn to work, you might need them, if you dont care, just throw the out. I believe you only need one of them. You should have a ground connection in your hub. If not, use an one of the plates provided. One goes betwen Hub adapter / Quick release. The other goes between Qucik release / Steering wheel.
yeah you only need one of them. put in inbetween the steering wheel and the nrg hub. its where you ground the horn using the wires they supplied.
so it goes in between the steering wheel and the quick release?> also im guessing the tabs need to be bent right?. damn i really wish someone has a pic of it.. but so far you guys have been great help..thanks again.

you can just bend the tab down a bit so that you can hook the connector to that tab. if youre still stuck ill post a picture after i get off of work.
monicle..if you could post a pic that would be great...so only one of the rings need to be used right?. the other one can be thrown away?
right you wont need the other one. heres the picture. the yellow/green id gounded to the body of the quick release. the other end goes to the horn button. the red is the power.

Yes the yellow/green is connected to to the bent tab, which is used for the grounding plate. Like he said, the other end of both wires hooks up to your horn.

does your horn work?
does your horn work?
another thing..once you hook up the wire to the grounding plate the 6 hex screws dont go down all the way..are you supposed to put some force when tighteneing?. or is it supposed to stay loose like how you had it in the picture?. thanks
you might also notice that theres no steering wheel in that picture. thats a big factor in why the screws didnt tighten all the way down.
