Default crx b16 problems

my friend just did a b16 swap in his 90 crx. for some strange reason its running like crap. even weirder it will run off of 1 cylinder. it also is burning very rich and smoking black with a blue tint. can anybody give me some advice on what can be causing this?

Just a step toward fixing your problem. If everything is correct then we will go to the next step.

Certainly check your firing order, points in the distributor.. but since you're getting blue smoke, and nothing timing wise can cause that.. i would check your headgasket.

Look for bubbles in the radiator by undoing the radiator cap at cold idle, and letting it warm up with the cap off. If you see bubbles, you've got a blown Head Gasket. Air in the coolant lines can only really be forced in by the cumbustion chamber itself.
