4th gen= lighter , same h22 if you have the vtec model , attractive body style that never looks old or outdated , bling interior and dash setup like no other .

As for the 5th, the lack of effort by honda in the interior made me turn it down and the square exterior just didn't do it for me . I picked me up a nice azzure-green usdm 4th gen vetc with leather and all that good stuff, love every part of it . wouldn't change it for a 97up.

At the end on making the decision, it's up to what you like

4th gen all they way, they are faster due to weight, and more aerodynamic, and they are just damn sexy

This is an opinion question.
But the facts are.

4thgen are lighter than 5th gen
Both have clean lines.
The 4th gen has a unique dash and also the digital is very nice. The 5th gen has a generic dash like most other hond/acura.
Alot of people dont like the front end of 5th gen but like the rear and alot of people like the front end on 4thgen and dont like the rear.
As far as which is a better sport compact car stock. I will say 4th gen.
It won sport compact car of the year from 93-96 I believe.
The 5th gen did not give very much competition to its precessor or the other cars in the same category. That is the reason I pick 4th gen.

As new as the 5thgen was at the later years of production, it should have been upgraded in someway. Type S motor would have definately helped.

all you fools saying that 4th gens are lighter are on crack.

94 VTEC curb weight: 2932
01 Base curb weight: 2954

do you really think 20 lbs makes a difference? The other models are lighter, but they sure as hell wont be faster because they have less HP.

the 4th gen VTEC may be faster, but its not because of weight. It has better gearing and may be a little more aerodynamic.

IMO: The 5th gen has a better suspension hands down, but the interior on the 4th gen is what does it for me; 5th gen inteior is dulled down for the masses. I like both exteriors, and they are both unique.

You can't say 96 and below...............
I personally would hate to have an OBD2 4th gen..........that would suck.

ANyway, thumbs up to all 4th gens. The best damn body style ever. Just look at the *** on those things. So nice - curves, wonderful. And the way it looks in the front - looks conservative.........but has *****.
