hey guys, if the guy selling me the motor claims it has LSD, how can I tell if it really does?

That reply made absolutely no sense to me - did I read it wrong?

What he might have been trying to say was this:

Look through the differential (where the axles go in) and if you can look all the way through and see out the other side with NO pin blocking your view, then it HAS LSD.

If when you look through you see a pin, then it does NOT have LSD.

I have an LSD Type R tranny, and trust me there is NO pin in the diff.

my friend bought a us type r vehicle to swap in his hatch. i looked through his differential and i could not see through it. his tranny is stamped lsd. wtf is up with that.

like it says at http://tiiite.b16a.com/JDM-LSD.htm Sometimes bad people take out the LSD and replace it with a normal differential, then sell the tranny as LSD.

Perhaps his halfshaft was still in? I've seen a lot of people try to look through but see the halfshaft and say "what the ****?!" but of course you will only see the halfshaft!

Look on the backside for the halfshaft to see if that's still on the tranny/motor.
