OT: Just picked up my R replacement
Just picked up a 99' FBP GS-R in mint condition. I looked for about 4-5 months for an R in my price range, but it didn't quite pan out. My first impression are the car looks great, leather is nice, sunroof and c.c. are definitely a plus, but it feels very watered down compared to the R. For all the people that state an R "isn't that much better than a GSR", they have either never driven an R or are just plain stupid. Don't get me wrong, I love my new car, insurance is cheaper, somewhat lower theft rates, 110% more comfortable, but it is in no way close to an ITR in regards to performance. Mods, if you don't want this here, go ahead and move it, but this seems somewhat relevant to the topic of the AAAARGH.

I had to sell it due to financial reasons, it was sold to an Acura Dealership, and then someone from the board picked up PY #1329, so it's still in the family

The BIG differences would be 1)Gearing 2)Brakes 3)Acceleration 4)VTEC is not as prominent and the cross-over is much more hard hitting in the R. The GSR will hold me over till I can get another R, and after some lightweight wheels, omni coilovers, and a nice exhaust system, I'm sure I'll be very pleased with the geezer.
Has anyone else made this transition from the R to the GSR? I'd like to hear other's opinions

it's all in the cams.
just get some itr cams and a jdm 4-1 header, there isn't much head differences except minor valvetrain but with the itr valvetrain, it's basically an itr in terms of power

I feel like an ITR tranny is absolutely neccesary to complete the "feel" of an ITR and once you do that you're getting into big money. I'm just going to enjoy the softer ride of the DD until I get another R, this time NHB for sure
, not feeling the unneccesary attention PY gets and also the lack of clearcoat is a bitch too. NHBP>PY,CW,FBP

Pretty stupid comment
Asthetically, I like the black GSR more than my stock PY R, performance wise, I'll take the R
