Default Does this sound like a main relay problem?

Occasionally at stops my engine will shut off. I go to start it and it starts but immediately dies again. After a while ill start it and it will run normal. It happens when I am moving too. The engine will die with the clutch engaged still and ill pull over, wait a little bit, and start it back up and it runs fine. My guess is main relay, but I want to know if it could be anything else?

its not the main relay, if the m ain relay is giving out, it wont let you start it when the car is off and a hot day, but once u start the car and have it up and running, it wont just die like that, its something else

Are you 100% sure about that? It feels like when I start it, it's just running on whatever gas is left in there and then it just dies again and also if the relay gave out and cut fuel there is no question that the car would die.

I appreciate the help. The battery is reading 12.65v right now and its been sitting all day, so I am almost possitive its not the alternator.

would be the map/tps sensor problem, maybe add more slack to the throttle cable for now, then check the readings on the tps/map

My friends did that exact same thing when his main relay went bad except for the dying part. But sometimes after a drive when he went to start it it would just crank and you would not hear the fuel pump prime. But after a few tries it would work again.

Yeah I am just wondering if anyone has had their engine die while driving when it was a bad main relay. I took it out and resoldered all the joints and it still did it last night.

Could a bad ground from my battery cause this? My terminal is kind of bent and it didnt seem to go on that great last time I had it off.

what you listed in the first post was exactly what mine did when the main relay needed repair.
try fixing it and see if the problem goes away...

Okay so when you were driving it did it too and not just when you were trying to start it?
