Default 215 or 205 /45/16 for my 16x6.5 ???

I can't decide from 215/45/16 and 205/45/16 on my 16x6.5 wheels. I'm afraid 215 will be too wide and would not benefit the car. what would be the best for my wheels if any of you wheels expert out there.

I say either one would work. I personally would go with the 215s. What tire are you going to use? The 205 will be fine also.

ive got 215/45ZR17's on, my 5th gen, and they scrub a lil bit in hard cornering, and when you almost bottom out over bumps,,, but they feel much more solid than the last set of 205/40's i had on..

To keep closest to the stock outside tire diameter you would want to go with a 205/50/16 or a 215/45/16, these sizes will keep your outside tire diameter closest to stock, thus keeping your gearing closest to stock as well.

EDIT: Also, depending on the offset of the wheels and if you plan on lowering the car at all can also be deciding factors.

i have the same size and setup, but no scrubbage. how low is yours? could be b/c i am only running eibach pros until my 12 pt coilovers get fabricated. waiting till spring, no point beating the hell out of a new suspension on winter potholes

thanks for the great analogy "preludeguy" and yes I want the tires to be a positive thing not looks or show. The tires I'm planning to use are the ventus 215/45/16 they go for about $97 a piece on tires.com they look pretty nice. I love the parada spec2 as well.

im running eibach also, it isnt event that low..., but the tires i got have a pretty good sized sidewall, bigger than any other 45's i ve seen.. it scrubs on the splash guard.. i had a decent sized fender gap, with the 205/40's , so i went with the 215/45.. and not my tires are tucking the fender in the front and rear... i think my springs have started to settle .. a lot...

Go with 215/50/16, It has the same rolling diameter as the stock wheels. It won't affect your speedo or gearing.

215/50/16 is closest to stock for 5th gen while 215/45/16 is closest to stock on a 4th gen.

i run 215/45/16 hankook ventus rs-2 on my 4th gen. they're great and i definitely recommend them.

For a 5th gen with 205/50R16 stock,

The 215/45R16 is 1.9% smaller and the 215/50R16 is 1.6% bigger.

Which is why you go 225/45R16 and are off by less than half a percent!
