hey guys, I have a silver car, and want to keep it a sleeper, so if I get a CF hood for weight reduction, is it possible to paint it?

 

From what I have heard, yes you can have them painted. I HAVE to have it painted if i get one, white wheels, red body, black hood, just doesnt go well together.

 

i'd actually think tha'd look pretty hot.. but whatever floats your boat

 

yes its paintable...

thats why alot of super cars... im thinking the diablo has more then 1 color.....

however i like the texture of the CF hood

 

yes, it can be painted, but don't be shocked when the final result ends up looking like a cheap aftermarket steel hood, since 98% of the cf hoods don't line up perfectly with the factory body gaps.

 

No problem painting it. I saw one which was painted in the middle to match the car and the sides were left bare. Hard to explain but it was painted along the crease lines. looked nice.

maybe you should get rid of the wheels?

 

NO offense man but by the time you spend 350-500 on a hood and another couple hundred to get it painted, I don't think it would be worth the 20lbs or so you would save in weight. For that much money I'd buy some performance stuff that would make your car faster!

 

For the 350-500 spent on a cf hood, I could go faster by other means.

 

 

try and find a cheaper fiberglass hood...paint that...id hate to see someone spend top dollar for a truly light weight CF hood, and paint it...
