oil filter gasket blowing off, oil pressure?
so i turn my car on, 2 secons later i hear a little fart, and oil is leaking from my oil filter, take it off, the gasket got blown off, get a new filter, does the same thing. Any ideas as to why its poppin the gasket? almost seems like the oil is going into the filter, and not out. Have brand new oil cooler and both filters were brand new. It is a freshly built h22a.
actually i had a similar thing happen i had to take off all the junk under the car where tha oil filter belong and the little o ring got a crack in it so oil just leaked everywhere

1) What brand oil filter?
2) How much did you tighten the filter?
3) Hook up a oil pressure gauge to find out where you're at.

when you take the filter off... make sure there isn't an old gasket stuck to the housing. it may just be and old one that melted on a little so when you put the new filter on, there's two gaskets (which is a bad thing)
thats my best guess

first one was a mobil one, hand tight, second was a fram, very hand tight. No there is no gasket material left, its a brand new oil cooler as well

how exactly might that be?

anyone know if there is a stock sensor that would turn the car off if oil pressure reaches a certain level? (over 100psi) i finally hooked my gauge up and that **** is maxin out way past 100
still not working, im now using the jdm oil cooler, honda filter, and have my oil pressure gauge hooked up. The gasket isnt blowing out anymore (cause of the way the honda filter is set up compared to the others) but my oil psi maxs out my gauge and then car stalls after 1 second of idle. I am stumped

The oil pump has a pressue bypass in it. I would check that this is not jammed, or put in wrong, etc. (as Lewdin' Incognito suggested above). Good luck.
