Default Valve Springs

Is there a way to tell the difference between type r valvesaprings and b16 valve springs. I might just ebay a set but I don't want to get ripped off.

no, its easy to tell...

ITR valvesprings come with 8 outers/8 inners on both the INTAKE and EXHAUST for a total of 32 springs
B16 valvesprings come with 8 outers/8 inners on the INTAKE side and only 8 outers on the EXHAUST for a total of 24 springs

ITR intake springs have yellow paint on them and exhaust springs have blue paint on them

man.....Im trying to get a cheap way out. But looks like Im gonna have to spend some money on new valve springs. I am paranoid that an intelligent crook can just paint them and get 8 more inners. Plus I need an excuse to get skunk2 stage 2 cams and valve train instead of buddy club 3+. Its either skunk2 or crower Stage 2.

What's the difference in price? Is it really that much?

if you are planning to run after market cams.. i dont think stock ITR valve spring will hold up too good
go with Ti retainers and DUAL valve springs.
trying to save few dollars on engine internal parts could cost you thousands of dollars to fix .. if somethig goes wrong..

ITR springs will hold up for CTR cams, and stage 1's from buddy club, skunk2, crower, etc for a stock rev limit. I was originally going to keep my stock b17 valvetrain but that won't really even with stage 1's. I saw some ITR valve springs for like $150 on ebay. And its gonna cost me over $500 for a good valvetrain setup (dual springs and titanum retainers) But brand new ITR springs are $400+, so for another $100-$200 I can get a more power.

does the springs have same stiffness?
in the case of dropping ITR cams into my b16 engine, would i just have to cange the exhaust valvesprings?
