Rebuild my d16a6 or go with a d15b?
i was just wanting to get some opionions on the subject. I can completely rebuild my d16a6 longblock or swap in a 60k mile d15b longblock for the same price.
I like the fact that i wont have to search for parts with the d16a6 if something ever fails...but i might have to research the d15b part to find its usdm counterpart ( or is there usdm motor that all parts can be taken from maybe a d16z6?)
eitherway please give me some opionions on which route to go and which do you think will be quicker
thanks

which d15b are you getting? that will determine weither or not u should switch out the engines. I personally like the a6. if you want some more power, get a cam and put some oversized pistons in since ur rebuilding
keep the a6, i was going to get a vtec d15b but backed out and decided just to build my a6. for that money for the d15b (engine, harness, ecu) you can build your a6 and have just as much hp. unless money isn't an option, or if you WANT vtec go with a mini me swap since your rebuilding the motor anyway although if you do it correctly and get an ecu and harness in the end the price tag may be the same as the d15b swap.

If you don't mind rewiring your car to OBD-1, go D15B vtec. If not, stick with the A6. You can always bolt on a Z6 vtec cylinder head and buy a Zydne one wire ECU.
Yes all maintenance items for the D15B can be found in the US.

If you don't want to bother looking for D15B parts and want a low mileage SOHC VTEC engine go with a SOHC ZC VTEC. Exactly the same as a D16Z6 and you won't have no problems looking for parts ever.
