with the purhase of my new project , 93 del Sol S, i am facing a tough decision on which swap to install ... and which would be a better choice if i went with boosting the D-series.. JDM D15B or USDM D16Z6..also my budget is around 4g's for the motor and build up... thanks

boosted D16Z6 got my vote.
I'm not a big fan of NA D16's as daily drivers.
D15B's a nice...but with the Z6 you have a bit more displacement not to mention it's USDM so parts are more available FOR that engine opposed to parts that can't fit "all" d-series components in general (like timing belts 'n ****).
If you really want you can throw a JDM D15B cam in a Z6 - the cam is more aggressive, won't net a lot of power, but whatever.
It's up to you, you'll get about the same out of both of them...except the D15b you actually have to pay for, like from hmotors or whatever, the Z6 you can like...pickup on the street...

boosted d16z6... with a budget of 4gs, you can have a built engine (pistons/rods/headstuds, and maybe some valve springs/retainers) and a turbo to get you over 300whp... that's my goal, with about the same amount of $$. Except I'm using a d16y8. Good luck with the project.

Just make sure you replace that oil pump with an aftermarket one or your full built project won't last too long .
Y8 oil pumps suck 'causing problems with Y8's under boost - though I'm sure you already know that.

Boost the z6. With your budget you should be able to surpass the 300hp mark. Parts for the d are dirt cheap. (I just picked up a complete y8 longblock with a spare block for 250. If you blow the damn thing up being stupid, who cares? You didn't pay jack for it. Boost the d, then smoke the dual cam idiot who makes fun of you for running a sohc. Have fun, and do your research.
