prelude h22a swap (wire harness quetion HELP!!!)
Hi, I am swapping the h22a into my 4th gen prelude s, had problems on the wirings
done a lot of research, some said use the original s wire, but does it affect the ecu?
I got everything complete for the swap and i want to do it right.
any one please help out. Thank you so much!!!!

If your H22 is a JDM version, the engine wiring harness is worthless to you except for a few plugs and you will need to reuse your F22 harness. If your H22 is a USDM version and the engine wiring harness is complete and in-tact, then you can use it.
If you end up using the F22 harness, you will need to add wiring for the knock sensor, IAB's, VTEC equipment. Also, you will need to rewire the distributor for use with an external coil, and likely need to extend the O2 sensor wiring.

</TD></TR></TABLE>Yes, it was meant for the rhd chassis, it could be used if you want to extend alot of the wires. On Rhd preludes the ecu is on the other side, opposite of usdm cars.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jc8251123 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Hi, I am swapping the h22a into my 4th gen prelude s, had problems on the wirings

Red92s is right, you need to wire the ks,iabs, vtec, extend o2 wiring and rewire if you use the jdm internal coil dizzy or you can use a usdm h23/h22 dizzy and it will plug in. If you do this you can re-use you f22a's external coil. As long as you use the right ecu you will be fine P13. Check out the faq's up top for an ecu harness pinout for the ks,iabs, vtec.

Thank you for all the info
but do I need to rewire the harness in the car(connectors for the ecu?)
cause it looks like missing a couple connectors with the f22 harness
if any one could provide a diagram for the engine wire harness that could save my day

but does any one know where i can find pictures of the wire that i should wire for the vtec valves.
and i should get a usdm distributor or rewire it thank you

all you need is the actuall ecu pins( you can get these at a salvage yard) check out the how to wire vtec in the prelude FAQ's up top. Its up to you if you want to use the external coil dizzy, if yo do i think it should plug right into the f22's engine harness. i used an h23 engine harness but the connectors should be the same.
Look in the Essential Prelude Link at the top of the prelude forums, the whole process should be in there. Use your USDM Dizzy because it is better than the JDM internal coil dizzy.

The F22 distributor will not bolt to the H22 head (like the H23 one can).

. . . The F22 coil is fine (as stated above), but it wont bolt up to the block without the a USDM coil bracket from an H23/H22.

thanks a lot on the vetec wiring info
but there are still a couple connectors missing
one under the oil filter (dealer call it oil pressure switch)
one for something like a air reservoir under the intake manifold.
and one above the fuel injectors.
and the last one is the knock sensor.
and i have 2 extra connector oxygen and water temp sensor. should i cut it?
and my ecu had 4 socket instead of 3.............
please help!! thank you all so much!!!
if any one can leave me their email i'll send the picture of the connectors thank you(i don't know why i can't put picture in here =.="

Im pretty sure the ecu plugs for obd1 and 2 are different, what year is your car? If this is the case then just get an adapter harness, pin it and your good to go.
The plugs are the same auto/manual ecu wise as long as they are both the same obd, i can email you a pic of my P12 f22a1 auto ecu so you can see the plugs, exactly the same as my p13 manual h22a.

HI i am trying to finish the wiring for engine and drop back in the car
please help on the engine oil pressure switch and the little valve on top of the fuel injectors
thank you so much!
please help on the engine oil pressure switch and the little valve on top of the fuel injectors
thank you so much!
You might need to extend the oil pressure wire(should be a single yellow and someother color wire with a ground type thing on the end) a little to reach the h22's sender. The faq's will show you how to wire the rest. WHAT YEAR IS YOUR CAR?
so u mean everything should be just fine with the auto ecu
and how difficult if i want to change the a/c control unit too
thank you. and the extra oxygen sensor is useless?? and a coolant temp sensor connector too

Thats a good thing for people who dont want/know how to wire and use a multimeter. I made my own.
