Expo 6 - What tires are you running?
Just wanted to get a census of how many will be on street and how many on race tires?
Driving to: Azenis 215
Driving on track: Ventus R Comps or A032rs

Hopefully be on some R comps by then. Been HPDEing on the Azenis for a year and a half now (215 and 615s) and I'm finally ready to move to the R comps.
Oops, usually 205/50/15.

I am looking into a set of 615s, but holding out to see if there will an Expo discount on tires like last year. Either way, I am completely open to suggestions.

For any one who has less then 5 events please use Street tires. It's better for you to learn and will be safer since you have a clue how they perform already.

Actually, I have no idea how my street tires will perform on the track since this will be my first time.

If you drive on them already and if you horse around with them I'm sure you hear and feel things, right?
Unless you just bought them and have not driven on them. But remember... Street tires are basically similar. R-Comps would really feel strange to a first time user and don't always let the driver know when they are about to slip.
I wonder if I typed that right
I keep reading it and it sounds ok

I'll be instructing, so I've got a lot of experience. I used street tires for my first ~100 HPDE events before I switched over to R compounds.
Which tires I bring depends on which car I bring.
On the ITR, I'm using RE010 on the street and for driving to the event, RA-1 on the track.
On the NSX, I'm using the stock tires (Yokohama A022H) on the street and for driving to the event. On the track (yes, I can fit a set of track tires inside the car), I'm using RA-1 on the front. I've still got a pair of Yoko A032R on the rear that I'm trying to use up before I switch over to matching RA-1 on the rear. They're close enough in performance that it's not a problem driving that combination.
