Do you think this valve is bent?
A little background, cam gears slipped, when I did a compression test, it was 270 - 170 - 270 - 270
can a busted retainer like that be the reason for the significantly lower compression in that cylinder? The valve looks fine to me, but I'm no expert so I come to you guys

Incorrect Install height / Valve Being pulled through the retainer / Rocker arm smacking into the retainer

Thread a spark plug into that chamber, then fill the chamber with a liquid. After that, blow some compressed air up under the head and see if any bubbles appear around the valve seat. Bent valves dont usually seat too well.
Looks pretty similar to heads I've pulled that have bent valves due to a timing blet breaking or slipping. I definently wouldn't try to put it back together without taking the valve out and inspecting it.
look at the top of your piston. if the valve made contact there is usually a mark in the carbon/piston. looks like the carbon or valve has been disrupted in the area i circled???

i looked at the piston and theres no marks of carbon disruption like the last time i bent a valve.
I'll go have it inspected by a shop to see what their input is..
thanks for the responses!

you can use rubbing alcohol or paint thinner. backyard trick
best bet is to just dissassemble it and find out. little time now will save you a lot of time in the end if it is bent
