autometer guages problem
I've installed the autometer electric oil pressure, fuel pressure and a/f guage. The gauges work fine while driving local. But when I was driving on the freeway, all the gauges stop working. At first, I thought that my engine is leaking oil, but then notice that other gauges not working as well.
After I pull over, and restart the car, all the gauges work fine and work fine until I hit the freeway again.
What could I wired wrong?

are they going dead completely or are they just not reading accurately???
where are your sending units plumbed into?
<---has autometer electric guages in racecar and chased problems for quite some time, but got them working.

How about the neutral?
The ground wire while we're at it?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Gauge are power to the 12v from fuse box. The gauges were powered from same source.
What is netural? Ground wires grounded to bolts.

The oil pressure and fuel pressure goes to 0, and A/F have no light. But they do work once I slow down on the freeway and when I restart the car. Just not working when I'm cursing at 60ish on freeway.
Oil pressure sender unit is adapted onto greddy oil adaptor, while Fuel pressure sender unit is attached to the fuel filter.

got some stiffy motor mounts in there?
sounds like you may have some iffy connections and the vibrations at speed are throwing things off.
in my experience, a guage that reads 0 doesn't have power, while an inaccurate or jumpy guage has a bad ground.
make sure your grounds have paint removed and whatnot. if need be, experiment with a couple different grounds to see which works. also, the sending units need to be grounded as well as the guage itself. if an oil pressure sending unit is threaded directly into the block, it should be grounding itself. however, if the fuel pressure sending unit is mounted into the fuel filter, the fuel filter itself might not be the best ground depending on how it is mounted up.

I do have some stiff motor mounts (prothane and ES)
I'll might have to solder the connections since when I checked last night, all the connections are connected and nothing fall off.

i don't solder anything.....they tend to break under lots of vibration.....i think (and i could be wrong) but most of the race car stuff is all quick-connected for easy of repair, and because solder breaks.
