I personally would go with a B-series transmission rather than a D-series transmission. The H22A puts out quite a bit of torque. And the MUCH beefier B-series transmission and axles are going to stand up to it MUCH better. D-series transmissions are just weak. They don't even stand up really well to boosted D-series motors. And the unequal length axles are just asking for torque steer. All this means that an H2B adaptor is a MUCH better way to go.

the cable b series trans is no better than a d series strength wise. Besides if you're anything like me you have 2 or 3 d series trannys laying around. With the money you save not having to buy a b series mount kit, axles, shift linkage and tranny you can buy an LSD and take care of alot of that torque steer.

If you can't do the work to put the H22 in (ie. the welding, cutting and fabrication.) Then a B-series or D-series is going to be your best bet.

the motor isn't too heavy, the bulk of the extra weight comes from using the h22 tranny. If you use a d or b series trans then i bet its not much heavier than a b series swap.

Please visit my site goes into full detail on the H22 EF swap. It is not that hard! it was my 2nd swap! My H22 crx weighs in at 2020 without me in it... it could be ligther then a gsr swap? Skunked weighed in transmissions H series weighed 2-3 lbs more then a GSR transmission. Weight is not a problem. Mine corners better then my LS crx did. It's a great swap and I wouldn't change it. 158 ft lb torque at 3200 rpm is one hell of a nice feeling.

The H22 is a horrible engine for all tha EF's. The H22 belongs to tha prelude. If u put an H22 into a EF it will throw off all tha weight of the vehicle. Don't get me wrong tha H22 is a superior engine... But its not desingned for the EF's... If u did get it that means you would have to customize the chasis of ur civic... Which will cost u a lot. Plus any type of mount will snap if ur goin to be street racing... There will be too much weight in the front meaning it will weigh u down... The H22 only has about 180 to 190 HP to the wheel... Which is a lot... But you will find better results havin a B16A1 or a B18C1 W/ a GsR Tranny... Good Luck if u decide gettin tha H22 Motor...

-Chris Styles</TD></TR></TABLE> u obviously have no idea what ur talking about...once u drive an h22 ef then u might understand why this swap is so desirable...it just rips anyother swap out of the water...the only other i think may stand a chance is the f20c swap
