ya that's what I thought.. SHAPE IS OFF TOO... they dont even look real...LOL
The mats I have a REAL but no Crx logo.. I guess they were from an HF or DX Model, I suppose.

Sometimes the CRX logo gets worn off, unless you've owned the car for so long you know it was never there. But like you said, the shape is wrong and the stripe is in the wrong place on those ebay ones. Plus, I bet that's like whiteout for the stripe, and you know those mats are gonna be paper thin...

I gave up in the search of the OEM floor mats. I just opted to by new ones from a company that sells them off of ebay. No stripes but the font style of CRX was correct.
here's the email I just got from the seller:
Hey Rob,
Pleople seem to jump to conclusions very quickly. I'm 41 years old and have owned a crx since they first came out (second gen). The mats I have seen in the past look the same as the ones I have here so if these are fakes then they have been around for 10 years. I see the differences the gentleman are talking about. The stripe on the passenger mat is in a different place and the "crx" faces the other way on the drivers mat. Honda has done some odd things over the years and it's possible that they changed suppliers or perhaps just changed the design of these mats.
I saw an auction a while back where the drivers mat looked exactly like the one in the picture you posted. If you look closely THAT mat has the letters spaced too far appart and the letters are too skinny. I compared these to the original Honda CRX brochure I have and when I do, one would say that those other mats are fake because they don't look like the one's in the brochure (and mine do).
We could go on forever here, and perhaps we'll get to the bottom of it but let me assure you that if these are fake then someone has gone to a ridiculous amount of trouble. As I mentioned earlier, these are the same mats as I've seen over the years. They have the SAME rubber bottom, the SAME edging, and the SAME fabric material on BOTH the mat and logo.
All you yonger guys out there, you're all great with computers, look around and see if you can hunt down some more pic's....you may be surprised at what you'll find.
Kind Regards,
William.

I'm going to agree with the guys on the $30 bucks. Here is a pair I picked up at the junkyard for $5 each
I just need to run the carpet cleaner over 'em.

edit: after looking a lil closer at the ebay ones, they look like they are made out of the same carpet used on a porch (sp?) to a trailer home.

I 100% bought the LAST set of floormats in the US about 8 months ago.

its nice to work for honda
this was the ONLY time they were taken out of the box.
they are in the box in my garage, along with the OEM car cover, and the other part of the full nose mask.

heres what i can say.
the comparison pic you have shown in your first post is my picture. those are both authentic mats. the old one out of my 90 Si. the new one i got in a honda parts labelled box, from a guy on ebay, matt cross i believe, who gathered all the remaining inventory and bought em all and slowly sold them on ebay. that was one of them, and i took that pic because ppl actually complained about the dark blue color of the mats, that they werent "black", even though stock mats arent even black, and those are pretty close to as dark as possible.
anyway, so those are real. i have no doubt your man on ebay is selling authentic ones as well. come on, CRX's were sold for 4 years, suppliers are going to change, if not simply difference in batches. its not a big deal that its different. its just not possible to make a "fake" mat to that detail.
and quite frankly, i recognize that guys name on ebay, that SON OF A BITCH has outbidded me on countless HONDA/CRX/JDM auctions!
i know he's a collector, and of high taste, like me
anyway, theres many of those mats around, so no one should ever think they have the "last" one. because a lot of ppl bought em and kept em stored in the original box like an original voltron set... i realized how stupid that is, and sold mine a while ago.

I know for a fact that is NOT true....
read above.
I 100% bought the last remaining NEW OEM mats.
i searched the computer myself, i ordered them myself, then i paid for them, took em out of the box, snapped some pics, put them back in the box, and put them in my garage.

would you?
you're adding your two cents to this thread (whether they are your pics or not) but adding FALSE info. he did NOT buy the last of the inventory.

anyway....
i just went outside and looked at my 88. it has the striping exactly like the pics shown in the ebay auction. the striping on the passenger side runs right along the edge like shown, not slightly offset. so different than my 90 and "new" (but not "last") mats. the "CRX" has been rubbed off the driver side, but its pretty much the same. i also now noticed, comparing the two, that even the shape of the driver side is different. the 88's are longer, and quite frankly, now i know why the mat always bunches up behind the pedal. guess thats why they trimmed it in later years.
so there you go, its just a difference in years.
and one more thing, its really not a good idea to ever post an auction, or at least a direct link, to anything youre particularly interested in. now you got a lot more ppl interested in that auction and potentially will have to outbid. good job.

Concur with Tyson on the auction/parts finding.
NEVER post something you're interested in on H-T!
As far as them being fake....
WHO CARES!?!?!?! even if they are fake!
Someone who took the time to so accurately replicate an original Honda mat should be applauded.
You guys are telling me that you wouldn't appreciate being able to buy 'new' discontinued Honda options?
If it looks right, fits right, and is a good price....I'm all for reproductions.
Now if we can just get someone to make non-authentic armrests, visors, consoles etc we'd all be in it real good

I'm not understanding why you want to be commended for buying the "last" set of mats.
You probabaly don't even have the last ones. Not every dealer is linked, and you can't check their inventory.
Additionally, many dealers have gone under and sold their remaining inventory to different companies and subdivisions to which you, again, would not have inventory access to.
I've personally walked into an area dealer and purchased an item that has been said over and over are no longer available anywhere in the US.
