Braided steel lines, permanent fix for radiator hoses?
Over time Radiator hoses get old and crack. and I know that braided lines are rubber hoses wrapped into a braided steel mesh, now since the mesh prevents the rubber from expanding, does this mean they will never crack?

Is there an actual reason? Or is this just your personal preference and taste?

those braided sleeves have the strong brided ''look'' but are not really all that strong and i highly doubt they will keep the hose from expanding.
Anything can fail, but the braided rubber hoses you are speaking simply provide more of a buffer. I would also go to silicone hoses if you feel you need extra precautions. For the price, the silicone might even be cheaper.
Well radiator hoses have a nylon or steel braid inside the rubber. The external rubber has two functions a) Tuning appearance b) It protects the rubber from external damage. The rubber will still rot over time. Only the teflon braided hose works in keeping the PTFE tube from expanding.

honestly, how often do radiator hoses crack and break? maybe one time during the life of the car, if more, theres something wrong. Just buy cheap rubber replacements unless you like the bling factor of the other hoses
