Does anyone know when VTEC kicks in for a JDM H22A1?
i believe its 4800, and its 20 more horse to the fly....but the type-s motor has better cams and high comp pistons.

I think you're a little low. I believe for the 4th gen, vtec is 5200 with a 7400 redline and 5th gen is vtec at 5500 and 7500 redline.

it is not an a1, if that helps clear things up. i was mistaken on that, just an h22a. but yes, it is jdm. also, does anyone know whether or not there is a fuel cutoff?
yes 118 fuel cut off, and vtec is in at 5200 i dont know redline cause my si guage cluster is way off. U can get it off from one of them chips, rev speed meter, or hondata various other tuning softwares.

HAHA, I think he meant RPM-wise
If so, I believe it is 7650. Not positive though.

Mine engages at 5500 on my stock tach, i dont know how accurate it is and have yet to take it past 7200, i think fuel cut of is 7650 and it will rev to 8200, thats what all the sites on the net say that sell jdm h22's.
on my VAFC, vtec is at 5250, and redline is 7400... fuel cut is at about 7750... i know this b/c i just money shifted today and pegged my limiter.. lol
ps.. i have a 5th gen..

so survey says 5200 for vtec (usdm) and i hope to God that fuel cutoff isnt 118 for jdm models... My d16z6 went faster than that!

i think i was mistaken it for being chipped, cause i know my friend had a jdm h22a and his vtec kicked in at 4800, but we later down the road found out the ecu was chipped...my b

the 4th gen prelude brochure advertises the switchover at 4800 rpms. I think the 4th gen helms says 4900. dunno if the JDM is different. I do think the 5th gen is a little later as stated.
jdm speed cut of is 118. I know personally. ( No bitching about speeding)
I have a jdm p13
vtec hits on my stock tach at 5000. so I do believe it actually hits lower then 5000.

There is so much MISINFORMATION when it comes to this topic. It's all "I think its..." or "Mine comes in at" or "I heard that it is"...
Does anyone have proof, from Honda itself, of what RPM VTEC engages?!

wow. this has been covered way too much.
Stock p13 ecu, JDM and USDM:
Dual stage intake: 4800 rpm
VTEC: 4900 rpm
Fuel cut: 7800 rpm
